Endodontic Filling and Remineralisation Material

Composition:

  • BIO MTA+ Powder: Oxides of calcium, silicon, iron, aluminium, sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium phosphate, hydroxyapatite (≈ ¾ of total), bismuth oxide, zirconium oxide

  • BIO MTA+ Liquid: Ph. Eur. purified water, calcium catalyst

Intended Use

BIO MTA+ is designed for dental treatments as a material for filling and remineralising root canals. Its applications include:

  • Root canal wall perforations

  • Intracanal resorptions

  • Root tip backfilling

  • Direct pulp capping

  • Pulp amputation surgery

  • Treatment of teeth with incomplete root development

Key Features:

  • High calcium ion content supports tooth remineralisation

  • Calcium-silicon compounds assist in tissue reconstruction after perforation or resorption

  • Contains hydroxyapatite, integrating naturally into bone tissue

  • Extremely plastic and cohesive when mixed, facilitating easy application

  • Radiopaque for precise imaging

  • Meets EN ISO 6876 standards

 

⚠️ Not suitable as a standalone permanent root canal filling.

 

Contraindications

  • Do not use in inflammatory conditions

  • Acidic environments disrupt setting

  • Not suitable as a full root canal filling (removal is difficult)

  • Do not mix powder with water or other fluids; use BIO MTA+ liquid only

Warnings and Precautions

  • Causes serious eye damage and may irritate mucous membranes, skin, and respiratory tract

  • Exposure to moisture (e.g., blood) reduces curing time

  • Complete root canal filling may reduce root fracture resistance

  • Discolouration might occur

  • Post-treatment may involve temporary pain, swelling, or tenderness

  • BIO MTA+ has cytotoxic potential

  • Use cofferdam, disposable gloves, safety goggles/visors, and protective clothing

  • In case of contact: rinse immediately with plenty of water

  • If swallowed: rinse mouth, do not induce vomiting

  • Avoid dust inhalation

  • Keep out of reach of children

  • Any serious incident must be reported to the manufacturer and local health authorities

Storage

  • Store in tightly closed containers below 25°C

  • Protect from moisture

  • Expiry date is printed on the packaging

Handling

  • Dispose of empty containers responsibly or return to the manufacturer

  • BIO MTA+ MINI: 3 × 0.14 g powder vials + 1 × 1 ml liquid vial
